Elizabeth King Puenta (Cook) Roe (1869 - 1948)

Biography

Elizabeth King Puenta Cook was born on 29 December 1869 and baptised on 27 March 1870 at Christ Church, Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia, to Father: William Cook and Mother: Emma^[1]. Her Australia, Birth Index record gives her mother's maiden name as Emma Bartlelt Mansfield, and her birth place as Hawthorn.

The Ancestry transcription of her marriage to Augustus Sandford Reale [Keats] Roe gives her name as Elizth King Puente Cook. The marriage was registered in Victoria, Australia, in 1910^[2].

From 1910-11, to 1922, Elizabeth Roe was on the Electoral Rolls (ERs) at Esplanade, Cottesloe, Western Australia giving her occupation as Married. [I have yet to find where she was residing between 1922 when she was in WA and 1934 when she was in Victoria. For some reason, her husband's brother, George Harriott Roe had moved to Victoria between the 1922 and 1924 ERs.

It seems that she reverted to her full married name when she returned to her home State of Victoria, but it is not clear when that was. Thus on the 1934 ER she was living as Elizabeth King Puenta Roe at 424 Glen Eira Road, Caulfield, doing Home Duties, and was still there on the 1942 ER.

Elizabeth K P Roe's Wills and Probate record has that she died, as a Widow, in Sandringham, Victoria on 13 June 1948, with probate granted on 26 August 1948.
