- Frances Backbone
- Frances was born 22 Jun 1914 and died 1 Feb 2008. The daughter of McKinley Backbone and Pearl Bloodman, she was a member of the Clans Big Lodge and Greasy Mouth. She married and divorced Otto Wesley Bearground. Her second marriage was on Nov. 2, 1946, to Thomas Bends. Her obituary describes her as the matriarch of the Bends family.
- Her Indian name was Daxpitche'e Annahko'xias'ash which means "Well Known Bear Den.
