Edward participated in four events at the 1908 Olympic Games in London. He won a gold medal in the men's team Small-Bore Rifle, 50 and 100 yards. He won a bronze in the men's individual Small-Bore Rifle, Disappearing Target, 25 yards. He finished 5th in the individual Small-Bore Rifle, Prone, 50 and 100 yards, and 19th in the men's Small-Bore Rifle, Moving Target, 25 yards.
He was also a road cyclist.
He went on to serve in the First World War as an officer in the Honourable Artillery Company becoming its Adjutant.
Edward was born in 1877. He was the son of John Amoore and Fanny Strode Norris. Edward, child of John Stares Amoore & Fanny Strode Amoore, was baptised on 26 August 1877 in Wimbledon St Mary, Hampshire, England.[1][2][3]
In the 1881 census Edward (age 4) was a son in Wimbledon, Surrey, England.[4]
In the 1891 census Edward (age 14), Scholar, was the son of John S Amoore in Wimbledon, Surrey, England.[5]
In the 1901 census Edward (age 24) was the single son of John S Amoore in Wimbledon, Surrey, England.[6]
In the 1911 census Edward (age 33), Bookseller, was the single son of John Stares Amoore in Wimbledon, Surrey, England.[7]
Edward's child Dorothy Joan Amoore was baptised on 2 October 1912 in Wimbledon, London, England.[8]
He passed away in 1955.[9]
