Clarification needed about a modification made by Josh404Bot

edit

Hello,

I saw this recent modification made by the bot @Josh404Bot

https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q132413360&curid=126273407&diff=2313233517&oldid=2312799908

It looks like an error, right ? The OpenCritic note has been updated from 80/100 to 82/100, but when I check the reference on OpenCritic, the previous value 80/100 seems correct.

Hmm you're right. It looks like it reverted back to an old retrieved at as well. Let me look into it. I'm wondering if the data coming back from the OpenCritic API is wrong or something got corrupted in the bot's database. Josh404 (talk) 17:35, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Forced a re-index of that game on the bot side, looks like it picked up the correct data. Thanks for spotting this!

Hey Josh404,

I wanted to say thank you for your OpenCritic bot.

Out of all the Mix’n’matching that I do, on a more or less daily basis, I always come back to the OpenCritic catalogue − because I know your bot will come along shortly to add this high-quality data. While there are other useful data additions based on extIDs (I’m fond of the country added based on OGDB for example), I find the OpenCritic one the most useful, as it also strengthens the notability case for these items.

I also love how your bot comes back to update items − too often our data gets stale, and seeing edits like this fly-by make me tremendously happy.

Thanks you :)

Wikimedia Hackathon Northwestern Europe 2026

edit

Hello! I noticed you're a bot operator, so I thought you might be interested in a hackathon we're organizing: the Wikimedia Hackathon Northwestern Europe 2026, on 13–14 March in Arnhem, Netherlands.

It's a two-day, technically oriented hackathon bringing together Wikimedians from the region. Whether you want to work on bot frameworks, tools, or other technical projects, this could be a great opportunity to collaborate with fellow developers. Registration closes mid-January or when full. Let me know if there are any questions. Hope to see you there! Daanvr (talk) 09:16, 12 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
