When one processor restriction, underwriting delay or entity mismatch can stop revenue across several brands, we need one senior payments operator who can establish the truth, own provider follow-through and build an enterprise-grade operating model.

We are an Australian group with approximately two years of trading history across ecommerce, wellness/services and planned physical locations in Sydney and Byron Bay. We use a custom ecommerce stack rather than Shopify. Our provider landscape includes Stripe, Square, PayPal, Zeller, Tyro, NAB Gateway, ANZ Worldline, eWAY/Global Payments and other Australian acquiring options.

This is a hands-on long-term role for a payments specialist, not a generic consultant, VA or agency salesperson. You will read the provider correspondence, inspect the merchant and checkout state, build the evidence, speak with providers when authorised and leave a payments control plane the founder and finance team can trust.

## What you will own

- A deep discovery of each business: legal entity, trading brand, customer journey, product/service mix, average ticket, volumes, refunds, disputes, fulfilment, locations and growth plan.
- A provider-by-brand map covering merchant IDs, legal entities, descriptors, settlement accounts, support identities, gateways, webhooks, order metadata and approval state.
- Australian acquiring strategy across ecommerce, payment links, virtual terminal, EFTPOS and mobile/card-present acceptance.
- KYB/KYC and underwriting readiness packs grounded in truthful primary evidence.
- Provider applications, commercial comparison, pricing, reserves, settlement timing and service-level negotiation preparation.
- Chargeback, refund, fraud, 3DS2, PCI, access-control, webhook and credential-governance standards.
- Payment acceptance, decline, fee, settlement and reconciliation reporting.
- A provider redundancy plan that avoids cross-wiring brands or concentrating all revenue in one processor.

## Required outputs

First 7 days:

## Experience we need

- Direct ownership of complex merchant acquiring or payment operations, ideally in Australia.
- Deep working knowledge of several of: Stripe, PayPal, Square, Tyro, Zeller, NAB Gateway, ANZ Worldline, eWAY/Global Payments, Adyen, Nuvei, Windcave or bank-issued Internet Merchant Facilities.
- Ecommerce gateway/API and card-present experience.
- Merchant risk, underwriting, reserves, disputes, descriptors, entity separation and settlement reconciliation.
- Ability to speak credibly with bank/acquirer sales, onboarding, risk and technical teams.
- Former acquirer, issuer, scheme, risk-team or senior payments-consulting experience is valuable, but results and artifacts matter more than titles.

We will not hire anyone who proposes hiding the business model, misclassifying products, rotating entities to avoid controls or sharing merchant credentials across brands.

## AI requirement

We are only hiring people who already use AI to produce verified work. Do not apply if your AI use is limited to writing generic text. We need people who can research, cross-check sources, build trackers, draft responses, inspect evidence, and explain where AI might be wrong.

AI may accelerate provider research, reconciliation analysis, document comparison and first drafts. You must manually verify provider terms, account identity, transaction evidence, legal-entity mapping and settlement data.

Do not move money, submit KYC/identity documents, accept contracts, change live payment routing, create production credentials, alter descriptors or decide chargebacks without written owner approval.

Initial Engagement

Commission Structure
First Self-Sourced Client

The freelancer will receive:

20% of net revenue collected from the first project-based contract; or
20% of collected monthly revenue for the first six months of a recurring service contract.

Examples:

A $2,000 cybersecurity engagement generates a $400 commission.
An $8,000 software development project generates a $1,600 commission.
A $1,600-per-month managed IT contract generates up to $1,920 in commission over six months.
After the Initial Trial

Subject to successful performance, the indicative commission structure will be:

15% of collected revenue for independently sourced project-based clients;

We are seeking a Perkins V / CTE Strategic Expert to audit our framework and design the structural guardrails required for school districts to fund our program using Federal Perkins V grants. This is not a core content-writing role; rather you will serve as the architect ensuring our "pre-pathway curriculum" meets strict federal, state (Arizona), and institutional compliance standards.
