i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping
this also goes for aesthetic or -core titles. 'y2k tank top' is going to get you resellers and fast fashion brands advertising to people looking to meet a current trend. 'thin strap crop tank top' is going to get you a diverse group of results and not upcharge you to hell and back
additionally, shop second hand when you can, second hand and thrift sites typically organize clothes by the cut and color. theyll be more affordable than a depop seller curating you a style to sell you
useful terminology for different kinds of clothing shapes :)

It’s hard to be offended when white people jokes involve bland food/tourist dads in socks and sandals/white girls in yoga pants obsessed with pumpkin spice/suburban PTA moms and other harmless and mostly true stereotypes while jokes about POC involve them being called thugs/criminals/slurs/uneducated/illegal immigrants.

fanfic writers deserve to be able to do things that will land them on the news without any consequences at least once a month, because imagine being kind enough to let people read your works—that you write for yourself and your own enjoyment—for free (also see my em dash that I refuse to let ai take from me?) and then some entitled asshole thinks they can just say whatever they want.
this type of comment is the exact reason more and more writers stop sharing their works online. ai witch hunt, speculations and accusations harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more. by leaving this type of comments, you are helping ai destroy the writing community.
Hey do you know what is up with the head cannon trend going around painting Troy as way more actionably intentionally racist than he is in cannon, and that Shane hates him?
This feels like an evolution of the Hayden & JJ haters trying to pin any of the players as an antagonist, but like on ten thousand. I'm blocking as best I can but it's hard to discern an actually good nuanced take about Troy's complicit behavior and a reasonable complex negative feeling resulting, from people flat out making things up about him genuinely being a volatile instigator of frequent hate crimes and pretending they're cannon.
I just want to see if I'm the only one who thinks this is weird? Like this fandom is so inconsistent on one hand there's popular creators like you with incredible text supported meta analysis and vintage fandom they don't have to be white actually, says me, head cannons that are honestly fun. And overall well intentioned practices and behaviors that made fandoms a safe space for me to express myself growing up. Literally HR as a fandom has recaptured my love for fangirl behavior and activities.
Simultaneously however there is such a large loud portion of the fandom that hates the source material for misogynistic, racist, and sexist reasons. Then everything gets blended into Tumblr soup so we're back to classic don't like don't read, except one side is saying "ooh what if this guy with 5 minutes of screentime and 3 lines was a vampire" and the other side is saying "this guy who is a main character that we spend a lot of time inside the head of definitely in cannon says slurs and anyone who disagrees is racist." Like did I miss something in Tough Guy? That one was a speed read for me so I'll happily back off if I'm wrong, but I can't be the only one who thinks this is weird and excessive?
yeah I've been seeing it and, similarly to you, have pretty much been blocking anyone saying this stuff. I find it SO fucking weird how some people in this fandom (and i will say it's a minority, just a pretty loud minority) are constantly trying to paint characters as villains when the stories already has bad people? andrexei is right there. kent is right there. crowell is right there! why are people instead looking at one of the actual protagonists (who you're right, we spend a lot of time in his head witnessing his redemption) and deciding he's the bad guy actually?
there is nothing in text to support it. troy is mentioned a grand total of three times in tough guy, and all three times he's just There while kent is an asshole. troy makes a single homophobic comment, no written slur, and that's it. other characters say he's an asshole and troy obviously has a lot of self loathing about the person he was, but there's nothing about him being as violently racist as people are making out?
(I do think there's something to be said about how people are very much victimising shane here whenever they villianise troy or hayden, like he's just a little baby who gets piled on as if he's not the best player in the league and highly respected enough that most would never actually say a bad word about him in public let alone to his face)
absolutely there are things to criticise in the game changers universe, and I get that criticism is a form of engaging with stories, but don't people get tired of it? when you're so focused on finding things to complain about that you start making shit up out of nowhere isn't that a sign that maybe this story isn't for you? yeah being a hater is fun sometimes but I think the big draw of fandom (and what's kept me in the fandom space for so long) is getting to enjoy these stories with other people
all of this to say, yeah it's super weird and excessive, but don't let that ruin things for you. block those accounts and find the ones that you do agree with and keep playing make believe forever, that's all you really can do

Hollanov amnesia but instead of forgetting Ilya, Shane instead forgets hockey. Lack of memory also means he doesn't have context for why everyone is freaking out.

so when shane joins ottawa it’s obviously great and happy until he and ilya realize that this means that shane is always going to have two more cups than ilya no matter what. it also means that — due to their freak nature — whenever shane has the smallest injury, ilya starts gloating about how this means shane will have to retire and ilya will just have to go on and win more cups than shane. shane will stub his toe on the coffee table one day and ilya immediately goes “we will have to put you down. no more cups for shane hollander. his husband wins them all now.” “FUCK YOU ROZANOV.”
Ilya is the type of depressed person who opens the fridge and realizes there’s no milk and is like “Fine, I’ll just kill myself then” and Shane overhears and wears a really exasperated look and says “I told you not to joke about that” and Ilya responds “Wow okay I thought it was healthy to share my feelings but I guess I will just bottle them up then” and Shane gives him a look like he’s got five seconds to run.
