I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.

Well - she got this email this morning:

The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.

Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).

Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.

Finally posting the trade art I did for @saffiroll and her story Diary Of A Princess (go read it it's good!)

Real thing that changed how i write: I started asking "what does this character think is wrong with them" and separately "what is actually wrong with them." Those two things are almost never the same. She thinks she's too much. She's actually terrified of being too little. He thinks he's bad at commitment. He's actually just never met someone he trusted enough. The gap between their diagnosis of themselves and the real thing, that's your character arc right there. you don't have to explain it. just write both.

AUGH I absolutely LOVE how she turned out.. (ignore the shoelaces I know they don’t make sense) I might make other outfits for her to experiment with larger body types more…and im planning on making more human II Designs soon

small notes: she has stretch marks BUT YOU CAN BARELY SEE THEM CAUSE OF HER CLOTHES AUGH upsetting I’ll put her in clothes that show them cause I think stretch marks are really pretty..ALSO this goes for all my II human designs, they have a meeple logo on their wrist that looks like a tattoo, but you can’t see it in this sigh but you can see it on my Jack design. Also the wick is just a hair piece it’s not actually on fire if that’s not clear
