if your work is a character x oc pairing with descriptions that absolutely does not match the reader then it is not an ‘x reader.’ if your work is a character x character ship then it’s not an ‘x reader.’

i get that the ‘x reader’ tag may just be used to get traction and such, which is why i didn’t say anything at first. but i realised that there has been an increasing amount of content under the ‘x reader’ tag that is anything but.

sometimes i find something interesting and actually have a great time reading it when suddenly, these descriptions about the ‘reader’ show up and break the entire illusion. or when i’m reading a great plot summary and then bam! it’s for a ship.

i’m not discouraging any writing, but i hope for the tags to be used correctly so that it’s easier to find what i’m actually looking for rather than being bombarded with things that i didn’t even search up.

just know if you have an aesthetic banner on your x reader fic that includes a white woman that's implied to be the READER i skip your fic and block you bc you're playing in my face and i respect myself

No, your "Reader" isn't a Reader if it has a physical name or description!! Stop using "x reader" tags for your OCs. We're tired of searching for "x reader" tags only to be misled because you keep using them for your OC stories. That won't catch our attention or make us read your story. When we search for the "x reader" tag, we want a real Reader, not your failed original character.
