"Tutorial" on how to draw an OC with dwarfism (well, some of it).
Boring tired disclaimer: Keep in mind that this is an introductory "drawing" "tutorial" and has some generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. Which happens to be true for everything in general.
You are heavily encouraged to do your own research because this does not contain everything you should know before making a character with any type of dwarfism.

FANTASY RACES REMIX - GOBLINOIDS
The misunderstood Goblinoids (named for their most populous subrace) are next on our documentation of the world's Races!
"Goblins are small, dexterous, and startlingly good at fighting. They travel in packs, armed with any weapon they can steal, and have hideous faces." At least that's what most would believe. Yes, they are small, yes they travel in packs, but most their weapons are smithed, and they cover their surprisingly adorable faces with intricate masks made to mimic larger creatures and predators. Goblins are fairly precocious young, usually working light jobs by age ten. They have a traditional dance involving flexible staffs, wild leaps, and clapping and stomping. They also craft and play flutes, ocarinas, trumpets, and other wind instruments to accompany their dances.
"Hobgoblins are mid sized, strong, and vicious fighters, often leading groups of Goblins in battle, and wear scavenged armor." Again, there is more to the story. Hobgoblins are indeed seen with Goblins, but are usually there as a hired pack mule, a babysitter, or as a client being escorted. Hobgoblins are more inclined to the magical arts, often becoming priests for the large pantheon of Deities worshiped by Goblinoids, and tend to the many small shrines that are scattered throughout their territories. They also tutor any who wish to learn the Mystic Arts, or those who have a natural talent. Hobgoblins love drums, and will play loud raucous performances before festivals and battles. Their hearing is slightly more sensitive, leading to higher tones being seen as very beautiful.
"Bugbears are large, violent, and brutish. They should be avoided at all costs." Bugbears are the largest Goblinoid, sometimes being mistaken as Orcs, but are also the most philosophical and thoughtful of the Goblinoids. They weave, they smith, they consider the order of the universe, and they do indeed battle mightily. They also are the premiere builders of the Goblinoids, crafting their tree homes and cavern halls. Hobgoblins favor the stringed instruments, and will dance beautifully in large groups.
Most Goblinoid communities are closed off and insular, but one village is becoming very popular after their discovery by some friendly Hobbits. A herd of young Hoblings found what they believed to be a strange baby animal stuck under a fallen tree, and hustled them home to their families. The head doctor of the village of West Windywhistle recognized them as a Goblin with a nasty broken leg, and healed the little lady up. She finally introduced herself to the children and doctor as as Aoi (after bribery with tasty meat pies), and Doctor J Springboard escorted the bandaged Gobling (and her troop of brand new friends and their parents) to the nearby redwood forest. They met a search party of Goblins and handed her off to the surprised and wary searchers, and if you could please let me check on her broken arm, and PLEASE can Aoi come and play with us when she's all better PRETTY PLEEEEEEEASE?
The next full moon (a week later), a small group of Goblins, Hobgoblins, and a pair of Bugbears made their way from Yamanarashi-Mura, in order to thank the Hobbit villagers for their help in saving little Aoi. The Hobbits were a little wary of the large group at first, but Aoi ran to meet her Hobling friends, and an adventurous Hob Youth asked about the staffs one Goblin was hefting, and a Party Broke Out (as they do in Hobbit communities). And ever since, West Windywhistle and Yamanarashi-Mura have been close friends.

Final for my illustration class: Mii history booklet!! I was making this before and after tomodachi life living the dream came out so if any information is wrong thats why. I’m not an expert on miis or Nintendo so forgive me if I got any information wrong!

This fan fiction is older than the push-through tabs on soda cans.
Your grandma wrote this on her Commodore 64.
I miss my Commodore 64
Oh my dear, sweet children. The Commodore 64 came out in 1982. This was produced on a typewriter and probably mimeographed. And while it may seem funny now, it took more courage to write and distribute this than you will ever know.
Reblogged for that last comment.
respect your elders
Children, in the olden days fanfiction was written on a typewriter, copied and sent by snail mail. Getting one one of those letters from across the world was every bit as exciting as getting a notification that your favorite writer posted a new fic.
It’s been said before, but the fact that this fic begins with the dialogue assertion “We’re by no means setting a precedent” is endlessly amusing to me.
Diane Marchant changed all our lives. May she rest in peace.
The precedent line is especially amusing when you bear in mind that “A Fragment Out of Time” is not only the first Star Trek slashfic to be published in a widely distributed magazine: it’s believed by some to be the first slashfic of any kind to be widely published.
In 1974 it was illegal to send pornography through the USPS. So distributing fic like this via mailed newsletter was literally dangerous. And they knew it.
THE LONG-AWAITED WEBSITE!!!!
It's not perfect- Strawpage's design tools are... not great- but I did my best to bring you all a Tumblr-free transcription of all my lessons. This is probably the most labor-intensive thing I've done for this page (next to the character polls). Four months of blood, sweat, and tears... and now, she LIVES!!!!
Some Notes:
- I created it with the intent of Desktop use, so Mobile might have some issues. If it's not working on your phone, try desktop.
- Out of the multiple browsers tested (Firefox, Google, Edge, Brave, Safari), Firefox had some issues sporadically.
- I'm still going to post lessons on here, first. This page is priority to me, and the website is more of an archive.
- The fonts are normal past this opening page.
- I will be adding a portion to send funds soon, if'n you are feeling kind and generous.
Thank you all for your patience while I worked on this. It was a labor of love and I hope that it shows. 🙏🏾 Happy scrolling!
Get real.
tumblr glitched while loading this, so instead of "dude get real" being the punchline, it was like this cat put on glasses for the first time and their friend was just. a legit dog. and not like them at all.
This is killing me
After a few months of on and off work, I present to you a new and updated
I have gathered (almost) every single Region and Town ever featured or mentioned on the main series games, side games, anime, manga, TCG and even scrapped content!
I took some creative liberties, like using the Beta maps for Pasio and Southern Kalos, placing ambiguously located anime towns where I thought they fit best, reorganizing the scrapped Space World demo cities, and most importantly, assuming Ransei is the Pokemon equivalent of Japan, when it is not in canon. But otherwise I tried to be as faithful as possible.
You are free to ask about any choices made! You are also free to use these maps however you see fit as long as you keep my signature and you credit me. (If you make another map based on this one, credit would be nice, but it isn’t strictly necessary)
Hope this is a useful resource or that at least you have fun looking at it!

Might be done by summer maybe. Hopefully we'll have enough of WiWa's map out by then
The vectors will allow for way more accurate topography and way more layers
I've discovered so many new resources to help make the new map even more accurate with the help of @/rainwolfplushie
I wanna figure out a way to make it so you can zoom in and out so that labels appear and disappear with distance
