The World is Our Dumpster

@dumpster / dumpster.tumblr.com

some people never go crazy. what truly horrible lives they must live. chinaski

heaven ran out of water

so they 're drinking all our tears

and washing their cars

how are you?

you are awesome

born awesome

living excellently

and will die fantastically

I thought you should know

the loneliness of loving you

a painter painting a peach having never felt its soft curves or tasted its sweetness

She asked me if her bush

was too 1970s

 I said I needed a closer look

to be belly down in the grass

for a better assessment

it's days later and I know it's perfect

He went to the cemetery to see his ex-wife. She sat on the grass painting her toenails beside the grave where her ex-husband reposed It was no different than bumping into him at the supermarket

Love never goes away

It wanders the cemeteries and supermarkets as lost as the hearts it left

our old selves hang in closets without doors while tomorrow's moths consume them

these old suits consumed make space for today's selves

please put flowers on my grave and in your hair

in the button of your belly on your lap when you scoop honeydew from a halved melon I will know this when I se you

and we'll dance in widening circles on the grass

and sing sing if you have any voice left sing

and do not stop

the heart holds secrets that no one ever knows

in that dark place where only love can reach

in that dark place

Every thing you buy is destined for the landfill

Simply throw your money in the trash and save yourself the trouble.

All civilizations are reduced to heaps of rubbish for archaeologists to uncover

the sound of turtle doves on the roof, this morning is independent of all sadness yet dark eyes look searchingly at the aging person in the mirror

I was in the Atlanta Airport

And saw a display in the walkway

Temporary walls

With Martin Luther King Junior’s suit, glasses, and a book with underlined passages and written notes in the pages

I stopped and stood there in a daze

As people went by without noticing a thing

It was just the reverend and me

As people went by without noticing a thing

Yes I talk to God

It’s comforting and a good idea to do this

I apologize, too for butt-dialing when I use God’s or Jesus’s name accidentally,

When I drop a toothbrush in the bathroom or  for some other stupid reason

Sometimes I just  say hello, or thank you or I love you. These are kind and wise to do  as often as possible

One good kiss in the

Morning

Lasts all day

Held in the breast pocket

Gets us through

Let’s dance tonight and sleep

When we get home

we have bills and alarm clocks

insurance policies and interest rates

we did this to ourselves

animals may have a life pared down to wisdom and simplicity from our perspective

even freedom

but one little mishap means the end

no awful hospital, soup kitchen, or open guitar case to help them

no cardboard sign

only nature hungry to recycle and grow with the life force heaped on the ground before it

most feel sadness when someone dies

why not for those still living

a broken leg or paper cut is worse

then there are elephants

who immerse themselves in death

and take time to caress and contemplate it

being as attentive to the bones as the flesh

sitting here

just sitting

listening to the heater go on and off moving the curtains

eating blueberries

one at a time

stabbing the tines of a small fork

into the grim little pumpkins

then a sip of tea

cooling faster than I'd like to patiently drink it

black fridays matter

in america the beautiful they count only money
