monastery girl who is especially dirty would rather spend her time eating seeds off the ground
where can i learn more abt monkees lore i rlly want to learn all the interesting stuff abt them
great question, if you haven't watched head 1968 i suggest you do that IMMEDIATELY (the link to that + the entire monkee tv show is in my pinned post)
there's a website called coolcherrycream which is the most beautiful archive in the world, and it has transcripts of the commentary to two films, head 1968 and the godawful made-for-tv early 2000s monkees biopic. that's really good and you can just read through what they say WITH audio clips of some of the funniest/most memorable things they say from the commentary tracks. definitely check that out they say some crazy stuff. the best lore drops are in the commentaries for sure. the whole website is full of interviews & articles & photos and everything a monkeehead could want
there's also The Monkees Day By Day Story by andrew sandoval which is like a little book/magazine/manual(?) about the monkees full career from 1965 to 1970. that's a pretty good comprehensive even though as a certified monkee nerd i have a few bones to pick with mr sandoval. archive.org has a scan but some pages are obscured/missing so i suggest searching anna's archive or just look up the title + pdf online for that if you're interested.
there's a few interviews on youtube you can find, a couple of monkees archive channels that upload just about everything monkees related even if its the worst quality known to man. if you have any more questions then i will happily respond because as you can tell i love this shit.i also have a sideblog @sweetertork guaranteed monkees fun & full of the craziest facts and photos etc. ok lots of love have a nice day

Was trying to make a joke about TV writing to my friend the other day and had to pause and go "...does the phrase 'surf dracula' mean anything to you?"
One of the most important critical texts of this century imo
image description: tweet by @/topherflorence, reading: back in the day if u did a tv show called surf dracula you'd see that fool surfing every week in new adventures but in the streaming era the entire 1st season gotta be a long ass flashback to how he got the surfboard until you finally get to see him surf for 5 min in the finale /end description
finding out that ‘dont treat me rough treat me really niceys” is an actual lana del rey lyric and not just a funny meme phrase was damaging enough to my psyche
but then i looked up the lyrics and not only is that line directly after the lyric “drugs, suck it up, like vanilla icies” (rhyming niceys with icies) but also the first line of the song is “my pussy tastes like Pepsi cola”. ms del rey this is disastrous what are you doing
this post had femcels telling me to kill myself
