yaoi is NOT REAL and men DO NOT EXIST
I don't know which trans girl needs to hear this but you don't need to have sex ever if you don't want to. no matter who your partner is. if the thought of having sex makes you feel anxious or uncomfortable, or even if you're just not in the mood for it, you don't have to. it doesn't matter if your partner really wants it or if they'd feel insecure that you don't find them attractive or whatever, you can just say no. don't let anyone pressure you into sex that you don't want. you are not a sex object made to please other people. you deserve to have your boundaries and sexual autonomy respected, and that includes the right to have no sex whatsoever, if that's what you want.
AO3 Femslash Top 100: Round 1
rite of passage thoughts:
- the fact that Cassie develops into a typical moody, defiant teenager says so much about Janet as a mom. like this is a kid who endured severe trauma at such a young age; the fact that she is acting like any other teenager just a few years later is a real testament to how safe and supported she must feel with Janet and her SG1 family.
- cassandra calling janet “dr. fraiser” and refusing to call her mom because she knows she’s undergoing some kind of weird transformation and she’s afraid janet won’t love her anymore so she ’s trying to get ahead of it by creating distance. and her testing the waters with sam asking “what do you see when you look at me now?” and sam says “i see you” like stopppp this is THE sam/janet + cassie episode.
- i also love how, even without the alien experimentation aspect, this is such a normal pivotal moment for all kids. “will you still love me even if i’m different?”
- also sam is such a dad with that “respect your mother” ass line, “don’t call her dr. fraiser, she loves you and she deserves better than that”
- that’s such an interesting dynamic, too, the co-parenting of it all. Sam is the more distant “parent” so all of their interactions are very meaningful to Cassie, and Cassie gets to form an image of Sam that might be somewhat idealized, especially considering how they met. and nobody can ever really live up to that bc it’s partially fantasy. it’s kind of reminiscent of kids with distant/absent fathers idealizing them and in turn villainizing their mothers only to realize one day that their moms were the ones showing up for them all along.
- janet fraiser my beloved <3<3
one of my favorite sam moments is in a matter of time when they're watching the video feed of the sg team that's being actively - albeit slowly - killed by a black hole and everyone's like omg we gotta shut the gate down and sam is like ☝️🤓 wait tho this is incredible we're watching a literal black hole LIVE. and then jack is like uhh we are watching good men die in slow motion captain and she is embarrassed bc of her sheer love for science that made her come off as cold in that moment and of course she's not she just couldn't help it because BLACK HOLE ‼️
Like a new friend!
just watched a star trek episode about a planet that relied so heavily on it's computer system that they all forgot the basics of their own knowledge. and that allowed them to miss the fact that they were being posioned with radiation and nearly ending their civilization. because they couldn't use their own knowledge to figure things out. i bring this up for no reason in particular
There's a Stargate episode with this concept too! They live in a dome and the computer is slowly killing them to maintain the population but nobody ever notices because they outsourced all their thinking to a computer system! Which obviously isn't especially relevant now either
