Bill S9928, a bill I helped work on with Rise, passed in the New York Senate yesterday unanimously!!! Beyond proud about this bill’s progress and grateful for these powerful words and the support it has received.
It still needs to go through Assembly before it can be signed into law so I will share ways folks can help with that shortly. I sincerely hope this bill makes it because I think it can help so many survivors going forward.
Wholesome content and nerd alert: I joined the board with the intention of only contributing a story a month or so. And even though I don’t theoretically have the time between my 9 to 5 marketing job, PR side biz and numerous other endeavors, I’ve been making the time to do several a month lately because writing local reported pieces has been so fulfilling for me. It really feels like second nature at this point and I genuinely enjoy doing this work.
