A slew of Swedish embassies and consulates are set for closure as the the foreign ministry prepares to cut costs after having its budget reduced, according to a media report.
The Swedish government on Wednesday announced the closure of embassies in Buenos Aires, Brussels, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur and Luanda.
Foreign minister Carl Bildt described as "stupid, dangerous and harmful" the passage of a bill slashing the budget of Swedish Government Offices (Regeringskansliet), warning that several Swedish embassies will be shuttered as a result.
