Noting that the IFC could help in further enhancing
private sector investment in Pakistan, the minister remarked that a strong
private sector was indispensable for ending poverty, generating employment and boosting shared prosperity across the country.
Owusu Banahene stressed the Assembly's preparedness to partner the
private sector to implement social and poverty intervention programmes that would bring about sustainable development in the Municipality.
There were a record 32 new
private sector projects committed in 2018, compared with 27 the previous year.
"Almost Dh10 billion will be added to Dubai once data is opened and shared from the
private sector. We opened and shared the data from the government perspective and qualified this data at a better level in terms of shape, quality and classification; now we want a similar [initiative] from the
private sector.
It allows for sharing of benefits by society: services, products and employment to the people diversified innovations solving persistent socio-economic challenges and paying taxes.Its place in economic development cannot be gainsaid the more reason many global processes such as Sustainable Development Goals have room for
private sector involvement, especially to improve living standards.
More than half (56 per cent) hold a positive opinion on the sector overall - a high 'approval' rate for the
private sector given the dominant role of the public sector in many countries.
"The decision by the UAE Cabinet will not only bring parity in benefits between both public and
private sectors, but also help attract the best national talents to take up
private sector jobs," he said.
The UAE Cabinet has announced that
private sector employees will benefit from the same public holidays as the government sector from this year.
The cell, headed by the Executive Director of NAVTTC, would comprise of a director and four deputy directors, which is mandated to ensure proactive liaison with the
private sector partners, said a press release on Monday.
The
private sector participation intensified with the conduct of seven different water sector presummits in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
