narcosynthesis

(ˌnɑːkəʊˈsɪnθəsɪs)

(Psychiatry) obsolete a technique in narcoanalysis in which the patient is encouraged to reveal suppressed emotions or memories with the aid of narcotic drugs. This is followed by a period of synthesis in which the patient is asked to discuss these revelations
