Linguiform rotation flap for amputations of the fingertip.
The postorbital region is partially preserved but the cross section illustrates well the prominent
linguiform process that is common within the genus (e.g.
[3] Acquired changes in liver morphology are represented by the following characteristic features, [1]
linguiform lobes, [2] costal organ with very small left lobe, [3] deep renal impressions and "corset" type constrictions and local inflammation of the organ or gall bladder.
Leaves 2.5-10 cm long; petiole 13-34 mm long; pulvinus 7-1.5 mm diam; rachis 0.2-1.7 mm long, extrafloral nectaries 1, ovoid, lanceolateellipsoid, claviform to
linguiform, stipitate or shortly stipitate, located between the proximal pair of leaflets or rachis just above the proximal pair, 1-6.5 x 0.2-0.7 mm; leaflets 2 pairs, papyraceous, glabrous, the distal 14-67 x 6-27 mm, the proximal 11-54 x 6-24 mm, lanceolate-elliptic, obovate, venation brochidodromous, nervures 14-17 pairs, apex obtuse, subemarginate to short mucronate, base oblique to rounded, margin plane or slightly revolute, glabrous.
Body with
linguiform shape, tegument with spines, extending up to the end of intestinal caeca.
Stachyotis is similar to Rhabdocosma Meyrick, 1935 (Ypsolophidae) in the shape of the pleural lobes but differs from the latter in the male genitalia: processes on uncus in addition to socii present in Stachyotis, absent in Rhabdocosma; gnathos acuminate medially, up-curved in Stachyotis, with
linguiform medial plate in Rhabdocosma; and saccus longer in Stachyotis than in Rhabdocosma.
With a marked
linguiform process, Hyleacris, Mezentia genus group.
