Saltarella

She tells the fascinating tale of Maddalena Saltarella who slept with the men who took her to Rome, received male guests like a queen, but ended up (probably) out on the street.

There is a thoughtful approach also to the text of the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book: many of the editorial accidentals of the 1899 edition are justifiably rejected and others are added - most notably in the final section of the Passamezzo Galliard (the second part of the Saltarella), which is effectively transformed into a G major coda.
