First record of the Northern Studfish,
Fundulus catenatus (Cyprinodontidae, Pisces), in Illinois.
We measured metal pollutants in Euhaplorchis californiensis, a trematode species whose complex life cycle involves two aquatic hosts, the California horn snail (Cerithidea californica) and the California killifish (
Fundulus parvipinnis).
Myers (1924) erected Neofundulus for
Fundulus paraguayensis, which has as its type locality a pool near the arroyo Trementina Paraguay.
As a result, using fish species (e.g., blackstripe topminnow;
Fundulus notatus) that are native and rarely exhibit aggressive behaviors toward ecological equivalents may serve as a non-intrusive means of mosquito control.
The Baja California killifish,
Fundulus lima (Vaillant 1894) is one of the two killifishes with distribution in the Eastern Pacific drainage (Parenti 1981), and one of the three freshwater fishes endemic to the Baja California peninsula (Ruiz-Campos 2000, Ruiz-Campos et al.
(darters) 0.10 0.11 0.04
Fundulus heteroclitus (mummichog) 0.07 0.08 0.04
Fundulus majalis (striped killifish) 0.01 0.01 0.01 Erimyzon spp.
There was no effect resulting from substrate or cleaning frequency on the abundance of mummichogs (
Fundulus heteroclitus) in any month (MM, P> 0.05).
Embryos and larvae of ER killifish (
Fundulus heteroclitus) are refractory to the induction of enzymes regulated by the aryl hydrocarbon receptor including cytochrome P4501A (CYP1A) and are resistant to PAH-induced lethality and teratogenicity.
In both medaka and
Fundulus heteroclitus, the MBT is a little later than the tenth cellular division, but is equivalent to late blastula, based on molecular and cellular motility data (10), (11).
Differences in the effect of fuel oil, and oil dispersant, and three polichiorinated biphenyls on fin regeneration in the gulf coast killifish,
Fundulus grandis.
Developmental success was also reduced when gametes of marine fishes (e.g., the California grunion--Matsumoto and Martin, 2008) and estuarine fishes (e.g.,
Fundulus heteroclitus--Able and Parmer, 1988) were exposed to low-salinity seawater.
La mayoria de los trabajos coincide en que las celulas cloro son mas grandes en peces marinos que en los de agua dulce en todas las etapas, pero se menciona a
Fundulus heteroclitus como una excepcion.
