Key stakeholders in the starchy roots market are experimenting to deliver different forms of starchy roots-based snacks, in a bid to compete with established manufacturers of corn snack products.

As it expands its global footprint, the company brought its well-known brands, such as Hagen-Dazs ice cream, Betty Crocker cake mixes, Bugles corn snack, Yoplait yoghurt, Nature Valley granola bars, Green Giant frozen vegetables, Old El Paso Tex-Mex food, Pillsbury baking products, Jus-Rol frozen pastry, and Cheerios cereal, to countless consumers across the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent.

You'll find familiar ceviches, the fried corn snack that everyone loves, traditional causa (stacked potato) dishes and all kinds of fish, chicken, beef, plantains, yuca, chaufas (fried rice) and that satisfying medley of flash-fried seafood and fried yuca called jalea ($12).

Qancha (pronounced kahn-shah) is an American version of a popular Peruvian corn snack. Qancha uses only three ingredients -- raw heirloom corn kernels, imported from the Andes of Peru; premium avocado oil that coats the kernels but is never heated; and sea salt.

Medora's primary brand, PopCorners, is a better-for-you popped corn snack. Medora currently offers PopCorners in seven flavors and the company is in the process of rolling out new products, including better-for-you popped potato chips and popped bean chips.
