The Queen of Soho is getting married! India Rose James, whose £329 million inheritance made her richer than the Queen aged just 16, announced that she was tying the knot with musician Daniel Vildósola back in May, and now the couple has revealed the details of what is sure to be one of the season’s most eagerly awaited nuptials.
The wedding is scheduled for May and will take place in Las Vegas. The couple will be inviting between 30 and 40 of their ‘nearest and dearest’, they told The Times, including their Brussels griffon dogs, Lilith and Smaug, who will serve as ring bearers. James’ nine-year-old daughter, Saffi, will be one of the maids of honour. A more elaborate celebration is planned for October, in a secret British location.

‘I’m full of anxiety,’ James, 34, confessed to the outlet, with the wedding dress being near the top of the list. ‘There’s so much happening, but I must also leave space in case I need to have a fitting.’
The couple met through mutual friends and were friends for several years before they realised romance might be on the cards when they discovered they were both single through the dating app Raya.
They realised things were getting serious when they joined each other for a road trip across America in 2023, with James meeting Vildósola’s family in his home town of Tucson, Arizona. ‘The family dynamic was so different from what I had,’ James explained. ‘There were about 90 of you. I just had my dad, my sister, my brother.’

India Rose James’ mother, Debbie, daughter of the porn publisher and property magnate Paul Raymond, died from a heroin overdose when James was nine months old. James went through a ‘wild child’ phase, describing herself as a drug addict. She checked into a 12-step programme when Saffi was two, and she has been sober for seven years.
Vildósola proposed in a Manhattan tattoo parlour while on tour. The musician had ‘Will you marry me’ transferred onto his arm, which he revealed to his fiancée while in the tattoo chair. ‘I talked myself out of it because there were so many times before when I thought Daniel might ask and he didn’t,’ James recalled. ‘But when he did, I shouted, “I f***ing knew it.”’

After the tour, they returned to the tattoo parlour and received matching lime tattoos, inspired by their mutual love of the citrus fruit – and of the American nickname for Brits, explained Vildósola.
‘Friends, don’t make other plans in 2026,’ art curator James wrote in the caption of her Instagram post revealing the news, reminding her inner circle that we will have another high society wedding on our hands in the new year. On the possible invite list? Lady Violet Manners, who commented ‘massive congrats to you both’, Antonia Showering, who described it as the ‘happiest news’, and Jack Guinness, who simply wrote ‘Mate!’

Elsewhere in her engagement Instagram post, she gave followers some adorable insight into her romance, with a series of photographs celebrating her big news. Behind the scenes in the tattoo parlour, Vildósola can be seen getting down on one knee after showing James his tattoo, with the blurry snapshot clear evidence of the excitement in the room. Also on display? The engagement ring, which appears to be a very large sapphire dazzler. The photo carousel included a heartwarming text message to Saffi, who she shares with her ex-partner, Hugh Harris, lead guitarist of the Kooks. ‘Pretty ring’, the seven-year-old replied to a photo of the gemstone.
