blues / orchestral - investigation, suspense, coffee
A David Lynch-inspired murder mystery game set in a Pacific Northwest diner.
Demo available on itch.ioA local journalist has been killed. By a falling tree.
With the sheriff incapacitated, you take up his notebook and investigate. Explore the diner, interrogate its patrons, sift through the evidence, and uncover the truth.
I provided a fully original soundtrack and bespoke sound design.
Act 1 is mysterious, melancholy, and uncertain. In Act 2, the complexity of the case increases. Act 3 is the denouement, when the stakes are highest and you must identify the murderer.
There is also a (slightly) cheerier main theme, a “snooping around” theme for exploring outside the diner, and a “pressing” theme used for the cliffhangers at the end of each act.

“I’m certain I’ll have more coming up for you. You made this utterly painless, and it was one of my biggest fears going into planning for production. Thank you for your professionalism, and just being awesome to work with!”

“I’ve listened to the main theme like 30 times over while sorting out the menu and I haven’t got tired of it! If anything I like it even more!”
Hey, I’m Andrew
I taught myself to compose in my teens using software that came with a music magazine. I’d had piano and trombone lessons and played in bands, but much of what I now recognise as music theory I learned throught trial and error. It was a lot of fun, but I never thought I could do it for a living.
I then spent the next 20 years studying and working in architecture. I practised in London, Malaysia, and Singapore, working on everything from schools to skyscrapers, metro stations to masterplans.
In 2020, construction slowed down and I had the time to explore other careers. I discovered a love of voice acting, specialising in videogames, commercials and corporate narration. You can hear me in titles including Nioh 3, Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon, and VOID/BREAKER, as well as campaigns for brands like Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and Rolex.
Then in 2023, while searching for some background music, I had a sudden thought: perhaps I could write my own?
Two years (and some actual music theory) later, I launched Tailored Soundtracks, creating bespoke and off-the-shelf music for clients throughout the entertainment industry. Recent projects include games, animation, and podcasts - and I’m always open to something new.
Drop me a line to say hello, and hopefully we’ll get the chance to work together!
Cheers,
Andrew
