Germ, formerly known as The GERM, is an American Super Smash Bros. Melee player from Northern California, historically known to be one of the best Link mains in the world during the golden age and co-founder of GENESIS. He is well known for his aggressively fast play style with Link and has achieved the most success as a Link main in tournaments. He is primarily well known in the competitive scene for putting together and editing DBR's Evolution, and for his part in the same video as a player. He also created Linkology and The Hylian Nightmare, two supplementary Link videos. Germ has been playing Melee competitively since 2002.
Germ was formerly ranked 4th on the NorCal Melee Power Rankings and was known as one of Northern California's top 10 players from 2006 to 2009.
Despite still occasionally entering tournaments, Germ is now a freelance illustrator and a concept artist, and happily married to Jes Roverso, his wife since 2022.
