Singing in multiple languages is a talent and feature that is rare in the industry, so April March has really found herself a niche with her bilingual compositions. Chick Habit is the track that she’s the most widely known for, sung in French, and you can really hear the influences from French 60s pop in her music. In the 21st century, it’s so difficult to encounter music that seems really original, but April March has found something alternative for the indie pop scene. Her concert was right after the release of April March and Aquasege, and although she played a fair few tracks from the album, it was great to hear her journey back a few years to Paris in April, and Lessons in April March. As well as her great indie vocals, her band are incredibly tight, and you can tell that they’ve been playing together for years. When she’s mix up her original tracks in improvisation, the band were always one step ahead and made it sound flawless. It was great to see her in a small venue, she was super friendly and came out for photos after the show, which was a lovely touch. She’s incredibly talented, and hopefully won’t stop making great original music any time soon.
