[CROWD COUNT] Major League Soccer broke its record for average attendance with an average of 19,147 fans a game in 2014, marking the first time it has topped the19,000-a-game mark. A record eight teams averaged more than 20,000 fans a game, eight teams averaged increases of 5 percent or more as compared to the 2013 season, and five teams broke single-seasonaverage attendance records. Also, Chivas USA, which was disbanded on Monday, broke a record for the lowest average attendance in league history.
