Fonts, Keyboard and Utilities

SIL provides a wide range of software to support the writing systems of the world. This includes fonts, software keyboards, text conversion definitions and utilities used to develop them. SIL also develops and maintains Graphite - a software package that can be used to render complex scripts. The SIL Open Font License provides a free and open licensing model for writing system software and has become the most common license for open font projects.

Writing Systems Technology (WSTech)

WSTech, a department of SIL International, provides assistance, research and development for SIL International and its partners supporting their use of non-Roman and complex scripts in language development. Our vision is that language communities are effectively using their preferred writing system on computers without technical barriers.   READ MORE >>
