My Fellow Weird Item Collectors
#1
I'm sitting here writing and drinking the spoils of war. A new shipment came in today and I got my grubby paws on it right away.
For some reason, I haven't been able to get my hands on a new hard iced tea flavor in, sigh of shame, tompouce flavor. (If you know, you know)
But it got me thinking, I have a strange collection of tompouce themed items and I tend to buy (or try) anything tompouce themed.
Does anybody else have a weird thing they collect?

I have various collections over the years. Comic books, action figures, coins...
I have no use for them, and most are not very valuable, and those that are are too much trouble to bother with. I'd sell them all only, that takes time and effort too. I dont know what will become of them, but... I feel it was probably a mistake to have collected them. Now they just take up space.

I collect elephants. I think I have about 45. They're one of my favorite animals. Most of them are made of glass. I also have some made of wood, wax and metal. But no real elephants yet!

My wife and I collectively have collected an absurd amount of things. Apparently, after a quick inventory, we have large collections of plague doctor themed items and figurines of catgirl maids

My mother-in-law says I should sell my stuff online because they are cool.
But I'm emotionally attached 😵

I collect video game figurines and goodies, but also notebooks and more recently "Mr Wonderful" pens, I have about fifty of them now! 😁

I collect mementos of catharsis.
One of my favorite ones is a tie allegedly worn by the CEO of the Eriksson cellphone company during the millennial shift new years, back when we still didn't know if the shift to the 2000's was going to wreck all of technology and potentially cause the apocalypse. The dude must've been in for either the biggest relief or the most stressful night of his life. The tie has little smilies on it :)
A few other things in my collection includes a lucky rabbits foot charm that randomly broke from its key chain just when its owner narrowly avoided a car crash, a splinter from a ski that broke in eleven places during a crash (the skier himself landed miraculously softly and was perfectly fine), and an ice pick that helped its owner cling to a rock wall for hours before their rescue.

I realized all the things I've ever collected were not weird at all. Cards, pretty shells and stones, succulents, journals... Nothing weird to see here.
I'm so normal.

I have a small collection of carved wooden otters. I also buy every Stories of Seasons collectors editions because I like the animal plushies they include in the box.

As I look around in the garage, and the basement and such, I apparently have collected an amazing amount of crap.

The weirdest thing I collect is limited-edition socks. I've been at it so long I only own one pair of non-limited-edition socks. It just makes mentioning them so much more entertaining.
"Oh no, I got mud on my sock!" <- perfectly boring statement.
"Oh no, I got mud on my limited-edition swedish fish sock!" <- causes everyone in hearing range to pause.
"Awww my sock got a hole in it..." <- nothing unordinary.
"Awww my limited-edition 7-11 sock got a hole in it..." <- gets a decent amount of sympathy.
To be clear, I don't care about the brand or style or color or that someone decided to make a line of socks themed on Galapagos for charity or whatever, I just get them because having limited-edition blue footed boobie socks is much more amusing to me than having normal blue footed boobie socks. If I see limited-edition socks, I will buy them.

A nation built on prophecies. An ancient dragon about to rise again. And the... pizza delivery girl? Who's supposed to slay it? Wait, this script feels off.
