A Place to Be: Ramble, Rant, Chat
#1
I love the vent thread, it’s one of my favorite parts of RR.
But sometimes people don’t just need a place to complain, but a welcome place to be.
Maybe you want to celebrate something small (or often) but don’t want to make an entire thread because you made one yesterday.
Maybe you want to talk about life, your pets, or a weird thing that happened at work.
Maybe you just want to say hi because it’s been a lonely day.
I love this community, and I wanted to make a thread for whoever’s online and wants to rant, ramble, or just have a bit of company.
No rules (beyond being kind). Just people being people.

Such a nice thread~!
Today was... a bit sad. I relapsed again from my substance addiction. But... still trying. Still pushing forward.
I was looking through my Steam's screenshots, and found this one from Dark Souls 2. I really like it, it's funny~!
What about you, OP? Everything okay?

xDDDD thanks for sharing! Good picture.
IAmNoOneImportant Wrote: What about you, OP? Everything okay? And aw thank you for asking. I've been feeling a bit sad and rejected lately for reasons including mental health/sliding into depression. I mainly made this thread because (like I've mentioned) I love the RR community but find it hard to find the right thread to just connect and exist so finally decided to make one!

And that's a wonderful idea~!
Just be patient, 90% of the people here work a lot in their lives, and cannot use forums too much
(except the vent/confessions threads but that's another story).

WOOO!!
I will take any chance to expand my digital footprint.
Ranting; I wanted to found more BL romance authors on RR, since... they are non-existent and I wanted to build a tiny BL clique (3 ppl). I scrolled endlessly. I could find maybe one, maybe two which were active. WHERE ARE YOU? I WILL READ YOUR STORY! REACH ME! GIVE ME REP, DM ME, I WILL FIND YOU!
Rambling; My cat shows her displeasure by biting my ankle. Fun for her. Not so fun for me.
Chat: Found an art, who used Klimt's famous Lovers painting into pixel art. Inspired by that, I've been trying to cook something similar to that for my boys. We will see how I will fare.
->Also, I do get that anxiety over unread messages, or late replies. My mind immediately spirals into 'Oh, GODS I AM TERRIBLE.' It is... truly unhealthy. Been trying to combat that by distracting myself with a light jog, or picking up my hobbies, staying away from screens as much as possible. I would suggest the same.

The rejection isn't from unread messages or late replies though. I think it's just overall loneliness and not connecting/making new friends in non-digital spaces I've tried recently. The depression is just something that happens, probably biologically. Depression usually comes and goes, so just feeling sad.
Anyways back to the BL thing. I've said it before but you're cover is JUST SO GOOD!

I hope to art bait more people into reading by pretty covers and pretty boys.
Thank u for the compliment!
->Well, the last time I had a serious bout of clinical depression, it got... bad. To the point where I caused damage to the house's plumbing because of the unwashed dishes piling up. For me, it was having no direction, no purpose, and only trying to get through each day by breathing. There is nothing wrong with that, of course. We do not have to be productive every day. Surviving is an achievement. No matter what.
It was around that time when I delved into modern philosophy, I think. I remember reading Jung and Huizinga and spiraling a lot more before, somehow, coming to terms with it? Because I was depressed, my memory of that whole period is... hazy and blurry.
-> I really hope you start to feel better soon. Life is cruel enough as it is. We do not need to hurt ourselves more by being critical of ourselves. Sending good vibes your way.

Can anyone recommend me a Grim Dark/Dark Fantasy that's more than blood and gore?
Something more psychological.

I racked by brain for a while and was going to say nothing, but then I remembered the first review I ever wrote was for someone I met in forums who was nice to me. It's called Fall to Darkness by SHarden. I haven't talk to them since June when I commented and binged the first book. I remember enjoying it. They're super underrated.

5Fives, I can totally confirm that drawing (nearly) every day will net progress, so I’m super impressed that you’re doing it!
As for depression, that’s rough. Something everyone in my circle deals with, more or less. Not to say suck it up but to say that it’s relatable and I’m rooting for you. Figuring out my triggers so I knew when I’d have to Just Get Through It helped… Not as much as I’d like.
But I’m sure you’re full up on advice. But maybe you’re not full-up on compliments: this thread is a great idea and I love the thought of somewhere to post little rambles about things that went well today.
