Heartworm is a serious novel with an absurd setting. It's not a comedy, despite it being about an automaton fighting against mutant dogs while immersed into an ocean of puppies. This is the end times of a fantasy world, and the characters treat it as such.

I'd like to check whatever novel you guys want to propose for the swap before I accept. My policy for review swaps is to agree to swap with thinks where I can see from the beginning I will be able to honestly give a 4* or higher ranking and don't peeve/bore me for any reason whatsoever. IF i don't accept don't take it as a signal that i think your novel is bad: there are things i don't like reading, that's the gist of it. 

I'd prefer fantasy or sci fi in unusual settings for the swap, but i am willing to do other genres as long as I find the particular story enticing.

well, to begin with, you are quite far off from 25k words in your fiction, so we cannot swap reviews. Furthermore, as I read, I notice something in the prose that reminds me of AI (Not saying you are using it. AI trains from human-generated datasets, after all.) and irks me. Maybe it's the cadence, the word choice, the way to construct the sentences. i don't know. Had chatGPT never existed, you know, maybe I could put up with it. Again, I am not accusing you of using AI. But its existence means this is not my cup of tea, as i feel i have read your style elsewhere and it falls into this uncanny valley. I am sorry.

Ohooo, this one looks interesting. i checked a bit of the first chapter and its a nice read, even if there seem to be a lot of short sentences there, but it's a stylistic choice i can ease into as i read. IT ALSO HAS EPIGRAPHS, WHICH, GIMME.  I'll begin reading and maybe give you your review in a week or more? I have a couple exams midweek so, you know, study will take priority, but i will try to read a bit each day until completing the 26k and dropping your freshly baked review. My novel has 28k by chapter 13, so it should have around 26 by the end of chapter 12.

The setting isn't super unusual (post apocalyptic USA), but it's meant to be very heightened and styalized. Let me know if that's something you might be into, you can probably read the first like 500 words of chapter 1 to know if it's your thing or not. If you're down, I'd love to do a 25k word review swap, 25k words would take you to chapter 9 or 10 (chapter 10 would be ~27k words).

i finished chapter 8 today, i guess chapter 9-10 will be a prison escape and or terrible torture and i am up for either.

It takes place in an original setting that's a fusion of Greek and Roman mythology and history with an ATLA-esque setting/premise. I think that's fairly unique.
