Wacky Ideas!!!

Have any of you had an idea so random, so strange, with so much POTENTIAL, that you decided and said, "WHY NOT?!" Perhaps you liked that idea, or perhaps you regretted it.
Well, even if it was a triumph (or embarrassment), share it here!
My personal favorite one was that when AIs try to replicate our reality, it is a buggy mess that crashes the game upon loading a missing texture.

A kid who bragged about creating an AI for his science fair project, discovered he could only produce a crappy LLM, stole what he thought was his dad's model, got the brain scan of a bear and accidentally created true intelligence.
-basis of a kid's book I wrote for my nephew

a detective story set in Australia in the 1920s where it is revealed that a series of seemly unrelated murders were committed by a 4th dimensional serial killer

Dang, a killer who can literally see inside his victim, pluck out the heart and no one would be able to even see it because he exists on a different plane of reality.

A primary idea in the early days of working on The Blade/Dancer involved being eventually able to write a fight that was essentially a duel between two cyborg ninjas that then changes into a breakdancing competition. That didn't end up happening exactly as planned because it no longer fit the story's tone but the thought still amuses me lol

Basically all of my main cast is "Wait this is a cool idea".
The third protagonist in Those Bound to Ruin, who is only introduced in chapter 24 (which is like nearly 100,000 words in) uses a concept that I originally intended to be a joke, but then over time the more I thought about the character the more serious it got. Now, they're one of my most interesting characters.

RLS was definitely that moment - hey why not write about someone inheriting a condo in outer space?
Also a very early Nanowrimo project, a story about a video game character who realizes he's a video game character and decides to break all the rules and destroy the game. Doesn't sound strange now but I wasn't aware of anything like it at the time. This was probably in 2004, long before the widespread game-inspired fiction of today (I believe, I certainly wasn't aware of any). If only I'd finished it, I could have been a trendsetter!

Except it involved digital horrors beyond human comprehension.

Writing a crime thriller called "The Killer's Consultant" right now; it's in the finishing stages. I really shouldn't be writing when I have no time... but the CM prompt was so tempting.... To the past me: whyyyyyy??? ðŸ˜

The character ability I'm currently working on is called Candyland, it allows the user to turn the surrounding area into candy and create weapons made of candy. The character before her had the ability Lemonade, it creates a controllable lemon tree that the user can have the lemons it produces explode.

it would be mostly a cosmic horror story set in 1929. the main character would be a ww1 veteran of course
there would be a secondary aboriginal Australian protagonist who would be there to provide general help along with exposition
the serial killer would have been a scientist.
it would be revealed that the native people of australia had interacted with 5th dimensional beings and referred to them as "dreamers" or in a literal sense "those who experienced everything everywhere all at once"
as mentioned it would be revealed the serial killer somehow managed to be able to enter an exit the 4th dimension at will
towards the end all parties would discover that 5th dimentional being exist. ones who can not only enter the 4th dimension but who also treat time as a non linear thing(they can go back and forth through the timeline) and the serial killer hope to become one of these thing and escape the confines of time.
possible ending: the main character makes a deal with a 5th dimensional dreamer and gets sent back in time to 1829 where he sacrifices himself be blowing up a boat full of convicts where both his great Grand parents and the great grand parents of the serial killer were so nether of them are ever born

Copy-pasted from a different thread that I replied on:
"A Re-Volt fanfic where within an abandoned Toy Volt factory, the sentient RC cars live in an oppressive mini-dystopia ruled by the strongest RC cars of the bunch, and are forced to do dangerous races around the factory's various facilities for the four-wheeled dictators' amusement, until the main characters (who are also RC cars) decide to "revolt" against the whole system and try to escape into the outside world"
Obviously I didn't get around to writing this idea into a real story, mostly because I don't really do fanfics. Though as a big fan of the game, it's a silly and fun "what if" scenario to imagine. And the "sentient RC cars" angle isn't too far out when in the game's manual (back when it was available on physical media), there's actually a backstory about the Toy Volt toy company producing RC cars that magically became sentient ^_^;

A game novel where the system is a goldfish that the protagonist can't flush down the toilet. This goldfish is petty, and floats around him like a fairy. And when he gets mad and yells at it, the neighbours think he's crazy.
"You stupid fish!" He's yelling and swatting, failing his arms crazily on his driveway while putting out the trash. Of course the neighbours look out to see who's shouting.
Now he's waving the trash can lid while still holding the bad of trash. "Shut up! I don't need a goldfish telling me what to do!"
Will he accept his fate as the chosen one and become the new master of the immortal pond?
"I'll show you immortal pond!" *Flushes down the toilet.
This was almost my mag contest entry. When I see how low Easy Kills ratings are, I think, "Maybe I should've dun this."
