Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair, and it's under the watch of Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. When the Alice in Wonderland gang targets the firm, Kane's daughter Kate returns home, deciding that if she wants to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes -- a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her stepsister Mary and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman.

Batwoman's second episode doesn't do much to fix the issues that emerged in the pilot, but its willingness to throw caution to the wind with plot feels in line with the other Arrowverse shows. I'm still not hooked, but I'll stick around for more.

Maybe when things improve a bit, or we get used to a new normal, it will be possible to care about the fact that Batwoman's plot is ridiculously slight, that her character is woefully underdeveloped and overtly presented as the real Batman's stand-in.

So first things first. Bruce Wayne has no family which is why Alfred raised him. When Bruce Wayne disappears, he wouldn't leave everything with some random person who can't even protect the secret. Alfred was an army man who could defend himself when needed but also, he is alao intelligent and can distract whoever might actually trespass. Plus Bruce Wayne owns a tech company and is extremely intelligent so no one would just be able to break in anyway. Even if Alfred weren't around he would leave everything to his actual bat family; Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, or his actual son Damian Wayne. You know the kid he had with Talia Al Ghul who helped train him with her father Ra's Al Ghul. The leader of League of assassins. This show is an insult to the source material and is clearing pandering. Batwoman preaches that men take credit for woman's ideas/work while she breaks into the most secure mansion and steals all his stuff.... right. Batman trained for years with the leader of the League of Assassin's. Some army dropout is no comparison and is an insult to include in the batman family. Also, the writing is atrocious. It crams so much in each episode and doesn't make any sense. The main villian almost immediately finds out who Batwoman is. Batwoman literally let's a serial murderer go free instead of arresting her because that makes sense for a superhero... right. All of the men are useless and dumb because modern writers dont know how to write a story where a woman has to overcome anything. No one is a real threat because they are all bumbling idiots. It actually makes your "strong female character" very weak because everything is handed to her. She doesnt need to be smart or strong at all because everyone around is always weaker and dumber in every conceivable way. Who wrote the script for this? Is their first job or what.
