Thanks for taking an interest in government and specifically the Treasurer’s Office, by visiting our web site. My office oversees the management of over $500 million in public funds annually, ensuring accurate accounting and the proper handling of taxpayer money.

We also manage the County’s cash, functioning in a manner similar to a bank and banker. Other responsibilities include managing and safeguarding public funds. In addition to that, my staff and I collect property taxes, maintain accurate financial records, balance financial transactions with the Auditor’s office, maintain County cash flow, manage the County investment portfolio, and ensure timely distribution of funds to schools, municipalities, and other public entities.

Throughout Ohio, the County Treasurer is the Chief Investment Officer of the county, and in Portage County I am responsible for the management of more than $225 million in invested County funds.
