A bomb disposal team were called to remove a WW2 artillery shell found under a shed in Plymouth earlier this week.
The team, from the HM Naval Base in Devonport, rushed to the property in Plymstock on Wednesday, September 24, under blue lights, where the weapon was assessed and safely removed for disposal.
It is not clear whether or not the artillery shell was live, but the Royal Navy divers safely cleared it from the scene.
Posting about the incident on X (formerly Twitter), HMNB Devonport wrote: "A team of Royal Navy divers from Devonport-based 'Bravo Squadron' were tasked (under blue lights) to Plymstock, to a report of an artillery shell at a residential property.
"This was confirmed as a WW2 artillery shell found under a shed. After assessment, the items were safely removed from the site for disposal."

The team were seen arriving into Plymstock between 3pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday, according to one local resident.
They had come from another incident in which a live British military grenade had been reported at the Cornwall Energy Centre in St Austell. This was also safely removed for disposal.
