This is very nice and promising indeed; however, in my opinion, one cannot rely only on research and the finding of new drugs, vaccines or insecticides for eliminating diseases like malaria; there is a need for a global approach and new treatments are only a part of the solution. I visited a few african cities and made similar observations: gutters along the streets are full of stagnant water, the litter there prevents completely the water to drain, and one can see hundreds of mosquito larvae. Politicians in charge and funding agencies should be made aware that regular cleaning of these gutters, especially during the rain season, would automatically reduce maybe by several orders of magnitude the number of parasites, and the probability of drug resistance appearance, and thus render treaments more efficient.
