Nanoloop one uses the raw sounds of the Game Boy's built-in 4-channel stereo soundchip:

- square wave
- square wave
- custom 4-bit wave
- noise

The cartridge features a mini jack data port for analog sync, file transfer and software updates.
All via standard 3.5mm jack audio cable. No link cable, no adaptors needed.

The PCB is covered with standard 8mm grid plastic tiles that can easily be replaced with compatible parts such as LEGO®, BlueBrixx etc.
