DC vs RR, IPL Match Today: Team prediction, head-to-head, pitch report, Delhi weather forecast

DC vs RR, IPL Match Today: Delhi Capitals (DC) are all set to return to their home ground, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, for the final time in IPL 2026 as they take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 17. Currently sitting seventh in the points table with 10 points in 12 games, DC kept themselves alive in the playoff race with a crucial win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their previous game.

Now, this becomes another must-win clash for them to keep their hopes alive. On the other hand, a win for RR would significantly strengthen their playoff chances – currently sitting in the fifth position with 12 points in 11 games. The Royals head into this game after two successive defeats and a long break, having last played on May 9. Whether that one-week gap helps them regroup and reset, remains to be seen. However, their regular captain, Riyan Parag, missed the last game against Gujarat Titans (GT) due to a hamstring injury, and all eyes will be on whether he returns for this clash.

DC vs RR: Pitch Report

Traditionally, the Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch is known to favour batters with short boundaries, but this season it has behaved unpredictably. Fans have witnessed totals of 260-plus being posted and chased successfully, while teams have also been bundled out for under 100.

In the last three matches at this venue, the wicket appeared slightly sluggish, especially in the first innings. Interestingly, DC batted first in all three games and managed only 75 vs RCB, 155/7 vs CSK, and 142/8 vs KKR respectively. Meanwhile, batting looked comparatively easier in the second innings as DC bowlers failed to defend those totals.

In fact, DC have managed just one win in six home matches this season, which has been one of the major setbacks in their campaign. Therefore, winning the toss and opting to bowl first could be the preferred choice once again.

DC vs RR: Weather Forecast
