In all, The Halloween Apocalypse is an engaging appetiser and revives my dimensionally transcendental taste-buds.

It’s a lot, but it all managed to build to a thrilling cliffhanger. ... Perhaps the most intriguing part of this episode, however, was Whittaker’s Doctor herself, who returned here with a moodier edge than before.

In an episode that doesn’t do much hand-holding as it leaps through time and space, that line offers a little bit of reassurance from Chibnall. This episode is supposed to be confusing, but it’ll all pay off in the long run.

Monsters-wise there was an embarrassment of riches. ... It seems they are throwing everything at this series, including the kitchen sink, to let Whittaker leave with a bang. Whether it works we'll discover in the next five episodes.

The usual mixed bag, then, but decent enough to stick with. Pray it doesn’t disappear up its own black hole like too many stories during Chibnall’s tenure.

Episode one gives us both too much and not enough to really go off, but it’s refreshing to see Chibnall attempt to shake things up for one of Whittaker’s last spells in the Tardis.

So far i watched 3 episodes. I love it! Its back the the earlier style of writing where there is a bigger storyline then 1 episode and i love that. The way of having a lot of sub timelines can also be confusing but this makes it very fun to watch as you have to keep track of a lot of things. A minor downside i find is that the english accents are really thick in this season. At this point its really breaking the emersion where every single alien has a thick english accent. So in conclusion I love the writing for this season, i love the bigger storyline even tough it completely breaks the established history for the doctor. but hey cant always have all the nice things. But the accents should be toned down a lot.

I found the whole season apart from the finale outstanding. The different characters were woven beautifully, Jodie’s acting was great, there were some great cliffhangers and the CG was mind blowing! Then we get to the finale, and my goodness it feels like a throwaway. The villains are dismissed, genocide takes place so nonchalantly and most of the universe doesn’t exist anymore?! Also the Doctor suddenly doesn’t care about her memories!? Come on! Other than all of that, the rest of the season was great and it was awesome to see them do something different with the writing of the overall story arcs.

Why does it have to be so heavy-handed with the messaging? I don't care who you cast - as long as you tell a good story. But this episode layers in the messaging in such obvious ways it takes you out of the story in jarring ways. I'm sorry I came back to the series.

Just awfully. TV show was is dead 3 season ago ((( and still dead, and not think it will be alive again

I'm 3 episodes in an it's really awful. Just randomness and throw in angels and other species. I imagine that the story comes all together at the end, but I cannot imagine the pay off being worth it. There are just so much filler scenes and introduced characters. It's just unwanted and useless exposition which seems to make a lot of the run time. I don't really think there is any merit tor substance to this season. All of my issues are summarised with the opening scene where they are hanging above a acid volcano. A really awkward script as well as a random chaos of events where the doctor really isn't in any control, everything just happens to work out well.
