The *Loyola Alumni Association* (LAA), Loyola College, Chennai – 600034, is pleased to share that the *Estate of Late Mr. K. A. Narayanan* has generously donated *Rs. 30,00,000/- (Rupees Thirty Lakhs only)* to support the academic activities of Loyola College.

Late Mr. K. A. Narayanan was a distinguished *alumnus of Loyola College,* Chennai. He pursued his Intermediate course and Bachelor's degree in Physics at the College from 1945 to 1949. His father, *Mr. K. N. Ananthapadmanabhan M.A. (Lit.), retired as a Professor of English at Loyola College.* After completing his education, Mr. Narayanan joined Government service and retired as the Deputy Director in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. Following his retirement, he resided in Mylapore, Chennai. He passed away on 12 October 2025. Before his demise, Mr. K. A. Narayanan executed a Will expressing his desire to support Loyola College.

In accordance with his Will, the Executor of the Estate, *Mr. Viswanath Vaidyanathan,* presented a cheque for Rs. 30,00,000/- (Rupees Thirty Lakhs only) to *Rev. Dr. Antony Robinson, S.J.,* Rector, in the presence of *Rev. Dr. D. Thomas Alexander, S.J.,* Secretary; *Rev. Dr. A. Louis Arockiaraj, S.J.,* Principal; *Rev. Dr. A. Louie Albert, S.J.,* Director; and *Mr. J. Balamurugan,* Secretary, Loyola Alumni Association.

The Loyola Alumni Association expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Estate of Late Mr. K. A. Narayanan for this generous contribution. *This noble gesture will significantly support the academic and research initiatives of Loyola College* and will stand as a lasting tribute to his legacy and commitment to education.

While Loyola College has been blessed to receive two Testamentary Wills from its esteemed alumni – Mr. Iqbal Makhdoom and the Late Mr. K. A. Narayanan – the Estate of the Late Mr. K. A. Narayanan is the first to have been executed.

The historic occasion marks a significant milestone in the annals of Loyola College.

Loyola Alumni Association Contributes to Fr. Kuriakose Scholarship Fund and Loyola Research Endowment Fund

Loyola Alumni Association (LAA) has made a generous and meaningful contribution to two of the colleges most vital financial initiatives. Mr. Kathik Sabanayagam, President, LAA Chennai Chapter formally handed over a cheque of Rs. 12,00,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakhs only) towards Fr. Kuriakose Scholarship Fund and a cheque of Rs. 12,00,000/ - (Rupees Twelve Lakhs only) towards Loyola Research Endowment Fund to Rev. Dr. Antony Robinson SJ, Rector in the presence of Rev. Dr. D. Thomas Alexander SJ, Secretary and Correspondent and Rev. Dr. A. Louis Arockiaraj SJ, Principal, Loyola College, Rev. Dr. A. Louie Albert SJ, Director and EC members, LAA at the Executive Committee meeting held on March 12, 2026.

This noble gesture is a tremendous encouragement to the ongoing fundraising efforts of the college and its alumni community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every individual who has worked tirelessly and selflessly to strengthen these funds.

We look forward to many more such milestones as we march together towards greater heights of academic excellence.

Refex Group is donating Rs. 2,00,00,000 (Rupees Two Crores) towards sponsoring a floor in Loyola Shyam Kothari Centenary Building.

Mr. Anil Jain, an alumnus of 1995-98 B.Com batch, CMD, Refex Group handed over the letter of commitment to Rev. Fr. Antony Robinson, SJ, Rector, Loyola Institutions and Rev. Fr. A. Louie Albert SJ, Alumni Director, LAA on August 22, 2025. The Jesuit management of Loyola College appreciates this noble initiative that will benefit the generations of students.
