Network Engineer

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owner and Squad members to design, develop, test, configure, upgrade, and maintain Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls (VDOM/VSX).
• Implement and operate firewall solutions within a DevOps/Agile environment.
• Deploy infrastructure and network software following established change management processes.
• Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation for firewall systems and processes.
• Interact with internal and external teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot complex network flows, performance issues, and configuration anomalies.
• Provision and execute firewall requests in alignment with security policies and standards.
• Continuously improve operations through automation, knowledge sharing, and education.
• Participate in weekend deployment activities and rotational on-call support (approx. 1 Saturday/month).

🧠 Technical Expertise

• Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls or equivalent technologies.
• Proficiency with firewall management platforms: FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Checkpoint Smart-One.
• Familiarity with security policy management tools such as Algosec.
• Understanding of SD-WAN and Zero Trust architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Zero Touch provisioning.
• Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl for automation and task optimization.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.

📜 Certifications (Preferred)

• Fortinet FCP/FCSS Network Security
• Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE
• Cisco CCNA

🔄 Operational Duties

• Perform daily and weekly firewall rule-base management (provisioning, assurance, etc.).
• Contribute to and execute the firewall product roadmap, including upgrades and feature rollouts.
• Independently deploy new infrastructure from High-Level Design to Detailed Design and implementation.
• Identify inefficiencies in network and workflow processes; recommend and implement automation solutions.
• Evaluate emerging network technologies and contribute to strategic planning.

🤝 Collaboration & Tools

• Work closely with cross-functional teams using DevOps/Agile principles.
• Utilize Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for task tracking, documentation, and incident management.
