Frontend Developer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands.We are seeking a Frontend Web Developer for a fully onsite position in Los Angeles, California.

• Location: Onsite 5 days a week in LA -- after 90 days may be flex
• Salary range: $90,000 - 110,000
• No Sponsorship
• Will have to do a video screen with me before submittal.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including web development, marketing, intake, and IT—to enhance websites and landing pages. You will oversee site maintenance, performance optimization, integrations, security, and scalability while contributing to the design and development of future content builds.

Responsibilities:

• Have a thorough understanding of Wordpress fundamentals and how data is stored in page builder
• Assist in providing migration recommendations
• Provide “under the hood” recommendations to assist with reducing long build times.
• Provide insights into how to best utilize gatsbyjs to scale to our needs.
• Perform code cleanup/potential refactors of components/collections
• Help wrap up a Wordpress migration into GatsbyJS on NetlifyCMS for Phase 1. Provide alternative CMS options such as Contentful, GraphCMS, or Forestry.io

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of web fundamentals such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, SASS/SCSS and Bootstrap.
• Have actively worked on a heavily SEO trafficked multiple in English and Spanish, Wordpress to GatsbyJS migration
• Basic PHP, JSON handling, and WordPress development (functions.php).
• Familiar with Git (GitHub), debugging, and clean, well-documented code.
• Strong communicator, fast-paced multitasker, and team player.
• Follows modern web standards (OOCSS, BEM, SMACSS).
