    ⛏️📢 Canadian mining companies should be aware of major SR&ED updates that unlock new funding for core innovation projects!  The Department of Finance has introduced the most significant enhancements to the SR&ED program in over a decade. These changes expand eligibility and increase potential tax credits, directly benefiting the mining sector. 🔑 Key highlights include:  • Capital expenditures reinstated: Pilot plants, advanced mineral processing equipment, and exploration technologies are now eligible.  • Higher ITC limits for CCPCs: Up to $1.575M in refundable credits now available.  • Expanded access for public companies: New framework to claim 35% refundable credits.  • More flexibility: Options for CCPCs to choose a revenue-based phase-out.  For mining companies investing in pilot processing plants, mineral separation techniques, or low-carbon extraction methods, these updates mean larger, more valuable claims. 📘 Our Ryan team has broken down the legislation and what it means for Canadian innovators.     Wrapping Up My Sales & Use Tax Internship at Ryan LLC This summer, I had the privilege of interning with Ryan as a Sales and Use Tax intern, where I was able to deepen my analytical abilities, strengthen my tax research skills, and gain valuable experience in data reconciliation, compliance, and professional writing. I also became more proficient with tools like Microsoft Access and learned how to navigate the full engagement lifecycle. From initial research and scoping to audits and even legal proceedings, I was able to gain valuable hands on experience and insight to the full scope of what Ryan does for its clients. What stood out to me most was the supportive and collaborative culture at Ryan. Whether connecting with fellow interns or collaborating with partners, I experienced significant growth both professionally and personally.
