You got them to press play. Now you have to keep them. Too many podcasts focus on getting attention — titles, thumbnails, and topics — but fall short once the episode begins. If you don’t hook your listener quickly, fulfill the promise you made, and guide them through a meaningful experience…they’ll drop off. Turn Listeners Into Engaged Fans Join RSS.com for a live workshop on how to use storytelling to create episodes that not only attract listeners, but keep them engaged and coming back. In this webinar, Greg Wasserman, Head of Relationships for RSS.com, and Rain Bennett, Host of The Storytelling Lab, Author of The Chief Storytelling Officer, keynote speaker, and filmmaker, will break down how great storytelling transforms your podcast from information into impact. What you’ll learn: → What storytelling really means in podcasting (and what it’s not) → How to hook your listener immediately and keep their attention → How to fulfill the promise your title and description made → A simple framework: Promise → Progress → Payoff → How to craft compelling stories across formats — solo, interviews, scripted, and more → How to align your content with what your audience actually came for (entertainment, education, or both) Why this matters Your podcast isn’t just content — it’s an experience. From the first 30 seconds to the final takeaway, storytelling is what determines whether someone keeps listening, remembers your episode, and shares it with others. By the end of this session, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to guide your audience through stories that deliver on expectations and create lasting impact. 📅 When: Wednesday, May 13th, 2026 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT

We recently did a webinar about podcast awards Highly recommend you check it out. Overview, which gives you some of the key learnings: • 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Awards recognize your work, validating months of effort and helping overcome the “is anyone listening?” feeling. • 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲: Submissions are reviewed by top industry professionals, giving your podcast exposure to influential executives. • 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: Winning can help secure grants, sponsorships, or new opportunities. Past winners have successfully used their accolades to grow funding and partnerships. • 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Awards facilitate discoverability for both judges (who find new shows) and creators (who get their podcasts in front of new audiences). • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹: Independent creators stand a real chance; major awards like Signal include categories for indie and student podcasters alongside big studios. • 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺: Not all awards are created equal. Research the judging criteria, who sits on the panels, categories offered, pricing, and promo support for nominees and winners. • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Awards often include live events, networking opportunities, and collaborative experiences, providing valuable community engagement. • 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲: Many high-quality creators hesitate to submit—don’t let self-doubt hold you back from opportunities for recognition and growth. • 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Consider what you want to be recognized for—overall show, specific episode, genre, or a particular aspect like sound design. • 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 & 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Submission fees vary. Assess what entry offers—exposure, promo support, feedback, or community building—beyond the trophy itself. • 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: Many awards accept entries from all over the world and across languages—your podcast’s reach isn’t limited to your home country. • 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Use awards as a reason to reach out for listener feedback or promote community Dropping the link to the webinar in the comments. 👇 As well as a list of awards to check out:👇

Webinar! Join Sounds Profitable's Tom Webster and RSS.com co-founder Alberto Betella As they present data that pushes back on one of podcasting's most persistent assumptions: 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. According to Sounds Profitable research, These "Audio Primes" are podcast consumers who listen to at least 75% of their content as audio. In a study of 5,000+ Americans, they skew younger, more educated, and higher-earning than the total podcast audience. A premium segment, not a legacy one. 📆 Thursday, April 16 · 1:00 p.m. ET Register link in the comments👇

90% of the most audio-devoted podcast listeners also use YouTube. It's one of the most counterintuitive findings from The Podcast Landscape 2025. The listeners who consume at least 75% of their content as audio, Audio Primes, aren't anti-video. They're actually heavier video consumers than the average podcast listener. They just choose audio for podcasts. Deliberately. This Thursday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET, Sounds Profitable Partner Tom Webster and RSS.com co-founder Alberto Betella will present Audio Primes: The People Who Listen to Podcasts, a new report built from The Podcast Landscape 2025 data. Come learn who Audio Primes are, how they behave, and why they're the most valuable segment in podcasting. Registration link 👇

You wouldn't be reading this If it weren't for the past 20 years and what Alberto Betella has built starting with Podcast Generator. For 20 years, there's been nothing but innovation. Come join the RSS.com family and be part of the future.

Exactly 20 years ago, I was a student in Italy and I built an open source tool that let anyone publish a podcast with no technical skills, when podcasting was still niche. I maintained that tool for over a decade as a passion project and without a clear business plan, just because I loved seeing people around the world organically pick it up and use it. That project ended up being the foundation for my company, RSS.com. And ultimately gave me the greatest freedom: waking up every day, working on something I love, on my own terms. For the 20th anniversary, I collected all the memorabilia I had, screenshots, anecdotes, articles, support letters, and put them together in one page to share the full story: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/d2wc3tVN I hope this inspires someone else to just start building something they love ❤️
