🇺🇸 America must lead in Space. On Wednesday, Mike Gold, President of Civil and International Space for Redwire, joined U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation “There’s a Bad Moon on the Rise: Why Congress and NASA Must Thwart China in the Space Race” as a key witness providing testimony on the importance of the ISS for breakthrough microgravity research and Gateway’s vital role in America’s return to the moon. Mike emphasized the transformational capabilities we are seeing in pharmaceutical research on the ISS that could lead to the development of enhanced drugs with better efficacy, longevity, and fewer side effects. “There is no question in my mind that microgravity manufacturing will transform the pharmaceutical and biotech fields. The only question is, will those benefits be enjoyed in China or here in the United States?” “Without the funding of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and explicit action by NASA within the next few months, we run the risk of reducing the number of American astronauts on the ISS from four to three, and then down to two. If this Committee’s directives are not followed, for the first time in history, there will be more Chinese astronauts in space than Americans. This should be unacceptable. Unacceptable to Congress, to NASA, and to this nation.” Mike also spoke on the critical benefits of Gateway in cislunar space “With Gateway and full commercial logistics services, the Artemis program can support lunar surface operations for 60-90 days, enabling robust activities and transforming the dream of lunar resource extraction and utilization into reality. Without Gateway, lunar surface activities will be limited to 5-7 days, dramatically curtailing the very nature of NASA’s operations.” “Moreover, Gateway is critical for projecting American power not only in space but on Earth. Over 60% of the Gateway’s costs are being born by our international partners, representing billions that have already been spent building hardware. Turning away from Gateway now, would squander this unprecedented global investment in Artemis and force our international allies to seek partnerships with America’s geopolitical rivals.” Thank you to Committee Chairman Cruz and Ranking Member Cantwell for their critical leadership in keeping America ahead of China and the opportunity to testify. Redwire congratulates Amit Kshatriya on his appointment as the new associate administrator of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration! “I very much appreciate Secretary Duffy’s decisive action, his decisive leadership, in elevating the head of the Moon to Mars program to associate administrator,” said Mike Gold, president of civil and international space at Redwire and a former NASA official. “That sends an important message not just to NASA but to our international partners, even China, that we’re back, we have reignited the torch of Artemis, and we’re going to the moon,” he said. “NASA civil servants needed to hear that.” Link to Space News article: https://lnkd.in/ejET6sN6

At the AIAA ASCEND Conference this past July, Redwire CTO Al Tadros emphasized that to achieve sustained space dominance “requires you to be able to operate like a logistics chain.” The Golden Dome for America, the Trump administration’s ambitious missile defense program, requires the U.S. to respond quickly to multi-domain threats that will evolve quickly across space and ground. According to Tadros, without digital engineering and AI, the U.S. will be behind in our ability to address these threats. Read here for more: https://lnkd.in/eM__JtpT

Tomorrow, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will host a full committee hearing titled “There’s a Bad Moon on the Rise: Why Congress and NASA Must Thwart China in the Space Race” to assess how U.S. policy and investments can foster America’s competitive edge in the face of growing challenges from adversarial nations, like China, whose rapid space advancements pose a direct threat to U.S. leadership in space. Mike Gold, Redwire President of Civil and International Space will testify as an expert witness alongside other thought leaders and former Government officials. Thank you to Committee Chairman Senator Cruz and Ranking Member Senator Cantwell for their leadership on this critical topic and the opportunity to testify. Watch live! https://lnkd.in/eUSTTHYC

Earlier this year, Redwire’s Edge Autonomy Stalker uncrewed aerial system (UAS) was showcased at the US Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment. Redwire’s Edge Autonomy Stalker UAS flew live fire exercises, uncrewed aircraft system stakes, simulated force-on-force experiment, and, force-on-force exercises. The assessment focused on the system’s ability to detect, recognize, identify, and engage targets in an operational environment. More than 50 concepts and capabilities were assessed with specific focus on supporting cross domain maneuvers. Operating at the battalion level and relaying all threat data to the Company Commander, an overwhelming majority of soldiers rated the Stalker as very effective for overall operations. We're already looking forward to participating in the next generation of this experiment in 2026 - the Concept Focused Warfighting Experiment-Maneuver! #AEWE #AEWE2025 Read more about Edge Autonomy and Stalker UAS: https://bit.ly/3VkRsWy
