Unity in the Community, a grantee of the Office of Public Safety’s Anti-Violence Community Partnership Grant Program (AVCPGP), was recently featured on NBC10 Philadelphia! PHMC serves as fiscal intermediary for the administration of AVCPGP grants, working as a conduit between the city and the grantees doing on-the-ground work to improve public safety in their neighborhoods. Unity in the Community is an anti-gun violence organization that teaches trade skills to at-risk teens to provide them with opportunities. NBC 10 highlighted the group for their recent work in sending 20 Philadelphia teens on a trip to Ghana this August, where they will use their learned trade skills to build desks and chairs for locals.
