The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). Through integrated management for HRA and DHS, client services can be provided more seamlessly and effectively. The City leverages shared services functions across agencies, which results in better day-to-day management and building an integrated mission across agencies.

HRA’s Office of Domestic Violence (ODV) oversees the nation’s largest local network of domestic violence (DV) shelters, along with aftercare and other important services that help DV survivors rebuild their lives. Tyisha Smith, a Principal Administrative Associate III at ODV’s Shelter Support Unit, is in contact with survivors every day, helping them move from shelter to permanent housing or addressing their concerns. Today, Raymond Daniel Medina and the NYC Department of Social Services Marketplace Program team joined our Agency Chief Contracting Officer, Vincent Pullo, at the NYC Department of Small Business Services Goods & Services Program Alumni Event: Procurement Intel You Can't Google. The event featured three fireside chats with agency procurement staff as well as an interesting presentation on leveraging emerging technologies to support networking and improve procurement responses.
