✨ Meet Listening Books ✨
We’re a UK audiobook lending charity, helping to make reading accessible for anyone in the UK whose illness or disability affects their ability to read print books 💜
Founded in 1959, Listening Books was born from lived experience – and thanks to founder Norma Skemp and her incredible mission, we continue to champion the belief that everyone deserves access to stories 📚
What we do:
🎧 We support people whose illness or disability impacts their ability to read traditionally, including dyslexia, ADHD, visual impairments, chronic illness, mobility challenges and neurological conditions.
📚 Members enjoy access to over 10,500 audiobooks, plus newspapers and magazines via PressReader, through low cost or fully funded memberships.
🏥 We also support hospitals, hospices, care homes and SEND students with our audiobook services and specialist equipment.
If this sounds like something that could help you - or someone you support - we’d love for you to find out more.
