About us

Listening Books is a UK charity providing an audiobook lending service for people who find it difficult to read or hold a book due to an illness, disability, learning difficulty or mental health condition. We stock over 9,500 fantastic audiobooks for all ages and interests, including best sellers, classics and titles which support the National Curriculum. Our audiobooks can be streamed from our website or downloaded using the free Libby app. Members can also access a wide range of newspapers and magazines via PressReader.

For individuals whose ability to read printed books is impacted by illness, mental health challenges, or physical or learning disabilities, this service provides access to a wide range of audiobooks and resources to support wellbeing, inclusion, and lifelong learning. How it works: Eligible residents can apply via our website and indicate if they are unable to pay, enabling free access to all services.
