About us

For over five decades, Life Fitness / Hammer Strength has crafted state-of-the art cardio and strength equipment that moves in sync with the human body, helping athletes and exercisers globally, become faster, stronger, and healthier. We created fitness. Now we’re making it better. In 1968 Dr. Keene Dimick invented the first piece of electronic fitness equipment – the exercise bike. His creative spirit is in our DNA and continues to inspire us every day. Today, the way people live, work and play is ever-changing. A phenomenon that is putting new challenges on our collective wellbeing. As creators in fitness, we notice and act on this by innovating, engineering and manufacturing the best workout experiences that move every partner, customer, athlete and exerciser, forward together. We believe that everybody gains from working out. That is why, at Life Fitness/Hammer Strength, we partner with our customers to create intuitive, high-performance, cardio and strength solutions, that move with the body’s natural biomechanics to make every goal feel possible. Driven by the standards demanded by elite athletes, we share a passion to engineer our products to be accessible to all – young and old, athlete and improver, well and in-recovery. As experts in fitness equipment innovation, we set the bar for our industry. By never compromising on performance, quality, or reliability, we continue to raise that bar. Our purpose is to empower the world to work out, creating healthier lives together.

  • At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we don’t start with steel. We start with feel, because the best equipment should move like the body was built to move. Our design process begins with the biomechanics of the exercise: ➤ How it should feel ➤ What muscles should activate ➤ How novice users and elite athletes can both benefit from the same motion Only after we’ve perfected the movement do we build the machine around it, ensuring durability and performance follow the integrity of the motion. It’s how we make equipment that’s not just strong but also smart, intuitive, and adaptable. From selectorized to plate loaded, from first-time gym-goers to professional athletes, we design for the full range of human strength. Because in our world, how it feels is how it performs. • In our Q&A with Mark Kovacs, the principle was clear: facilities flourish when they nurture human connection, not just physical movement. This truth is particularly powerful in group exercise. Why group fitness matters for facilities: ➤ Encourages ongoing attendance by tapping into social habits ➤ Classes become places where friendships form, turning members into community builders ➤ These bonds strengthen loyalty and drive retention As facility managers, build on these points by creating environments and offerings where the workout is only the beginning. Think: ➤ Group programming that encourages informal connection ➤ Layouts that invite post-class mingling ➤ Experiences that blur the line between fitness and friendship Facilities need to stay focused on more than just equipment. When people connect, support each other, and keep coming back for more than the workout, it all comes together. Let’s transform facilities into places where belonging comes standard. • When performance matters, details make the difference. That’s why the Hammer Strength Adjustable Decline Bench was designed with athletes and operators in mind, delivering quick, secure adjustments (–10° to –25°) via a gas-shock-assisted lever. That means no need for unstable props or makeshift angles. Why it works for your facility: ➤ Smooth, intuitive angle change keeps sessions flowing ➤ Heavy-duty build holds up under the toughest use ➤ Thoughtful design reduces risk and increases versatility Smart design = solid lifts, fewer adjustments, more results. This isn’t just a bench. It’s an upgrade to your strength floor. https://lnkd.in/gMZsRPAB

  • Inspiration is born from meaningful innovation and empathetic design that work they way you need them to. At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, innovation isn’t a buzzword, it’s a responsibility. It begins with listening to real users, understanding facility needs, and building with purpose. This video highlights our ongoing commitment to creating solutions that do more than perform. They connect. To the body. To the mind. To the communities our partners serve. Every curve, console, and cable we engineer is rooted in human insight and evolved through collaboration with real-world operators and exercisers. Because innovation that doesn’t connect doesn’t last.

  • Marathon success isn’t built on miles alone. Strength training is the foundation that helps every stride go further. Movements like standard presses, single-leg presses, and calf raises help build strong hamstrings and quads. This leads to better stride efficiency, greater endurance, and fewer injuries. Pair that with equipment like the Axiom Leg Press, and your members are prepared to power up hills, stay stable during long runs, and recover faster post-race. For facility managers, it’s about more than just machines, it’s about giving members the tools to perform their best, mile after mile. Configure your own Axiom Leg Press: https://lnkd.in/ggHAWMWD
