A message from the president of IS-MPMI, Jean Greenberg: As president of IS-MPMI, I am doing a major fund drive to support early career researchers. I'm proud to announce that we just passed the half-way point of our ambitious goal to raise $40,000 for the Mishkind travel fund*. Please consider donating today! https://ismpmi.org/ As promised, I will be making a $2500 donation to the fund to honor my challenge pledge. *The IS-MPMI Michael Mishkind Travel Fund provides travel awards to IS-MPMI Members who are early career investigators presenting their research at the IS-MPMI Congress.

IS-MPMI News- From the President’s Desk Dear IS-MPMI members Since I became President in July 2025, I’ve been working hard to ensure that IS-MPMI has an enduring future and valuable programming for our members. I’m pleased to share a few important updates with you. On the Road to Jeju - A New Webinar Series: We are already just 17 months away from our next Congress in Jeju Island, and planning is well underway. To build momentum toward this exciting meeting, the IS‑MPMI Board is developing a new webinar series, “On the Road to Jeju.” This series will highlight timely science and emerging ideas across our community. More details will be shared soon, please stay tuned. Get Involved with IS‑MPMI: Due to rising operational costs, IS-MPMI will transition to being self-managed beginning in April. This change is urgently needed to remain an economically viable society; we are striving to keep membership dues and congress registration fees as affordable as possible. Importantly, self-management creates new opportunities for members to play a more active role in shaping the Society. Please watch for opportunities to volunteer to help with society activities. Announcements will be shared by email and through social media, and I encourage you to consider getting involved. As part of this transition, we will also be launching a new IS‑MPMI website, which may result in a brief interruption to our web presence. In the meantime, please stay connected with us through our LinkedIn Page (https://lnkd.in/gNE7rAcm) and check BluSky (@ismpmi.bsky.social) or X (@ISMPMI). Thank you for being an engaged and valued member of the IS‑MPMI community. I look forward to working together as we move toward Jeju and beyond. Jean Greenberg
