Congratulations to Dr. Konstantin Bräutigam and coauthors on publication of their new study exploring how TGF and BMP signaling shape pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) progression! The team analyzed more than 100 resected PDAC specimens using a combination of IHC and ISH and investigated links between protein/RNA expression and clinicopathological features. The work demonstrated intratumoral heterogeneity in the expression of TGF and BMP and showed links between TGF-B2 activity and survival, associations with lymph node involvement, and shifts in regulatory T-cell presence, expanding our understanding of the TME in PDAC. We’re delighted that HALO and HALO AI could assist the team with AI-powered tissue classification and nuclear segmentation as well as analysis of protein and mRNA expression.
