Iran’s listed equity market is large, active and highly relevant to understanding the country’s real economy. Yet much of its data remains difficult to access in English or compare in internationally familiar terms. Hormuz has now expanded its market intelligence layer with two connected tools: Tehran Market Monitor provides a daily view of listed market value, trading activity, liquidity, market breadth, valuation, individual investor flows and order-book imbalances. Iran Industry Intelligence organizes the same market through its listed industries, allowing users to compare sector size, trading activity, performance, valuation and unusual market attention. Key monetary indicators are presented in both Iranian rial and U.S. dollar terms using a shared, disclosed market exchange rate. The objective is not simply to reproduce market numbers, but to make Iran’s public equity market easier to interpret for international researchers, investors and decision-makers. We built Hormuz because serious decisions about Iran are still made with fragmented information. Today, Hormuz Group is live on Product Hunt. It brings together regional market intelligence, company and infrastructure profiles, investment cases, due diligence support, and tools for approaching the Iranian market with more context. Most AI research tools are good at finding information or generating summaries. The harder problem is turning fragmented, duplicated, and sometimes conflicting sources into a brief that a human can actually review, trust, and publish. That is the problem we built OpenBrief AI to address. OpenBrief AI is an open-source WordPress plugin that combines: • guided web research • evidence collection and deduplication • event extraction • leading indicators and scenario analysis • human editorial review • HTML, email, and PDF publishing The project began as an internal research workflow at Hormuz Group. Most discussions about Iran begin at the national level. GDP. Sanctions. Inflation. Political risk. Population. These indicators matter, but they rarely explain where commercial activity actually happens, which regions remain operationally viable, how industries differ, or why two opportunities inside the same country can carry entirely different risk profiles. Country-level analysis often hides more than it reveals. Iran is better understood as a system of interconnected local markets, industrial clusters, infrastructure networks, supply chains, institutions, and constraints. The useful question is not simply: “Is Iran investable?” It is: Which part of Iran, for which sector, under what conditions, with which counterparties, and with what execution risks? What they often cannot find is a structured view of Iran’s provinces, industries, companies, infrastructure, market constraints, and practical entry realities. That is why I founded Hormuz Group. Hormuz is building the intelligence layer for understanding and entering the Iranian market. We are developing: - structured coverage of provinces, industries, markets, companies, and infrastructure - proprietary datasets and market indicators - research on risks, constraints, and investment opportunities - local intelligence and counterparty mapping - selected support for market entry and execution The goal is not to promote Iran or simplify its risks. The goal is to make the market more legible, documented, and decision-ready.
